Elizabeth's Name

Why did we name her Elizabeth Faith? Elizabeth is Carrie's middle name and also John's mom's middle name. Elizabeth also means "Oath of God". It wasn't an easy road to parenthood. When we finally found out we were expecting it was so special to learn that the name we had wanted all along for a girl also meant "Oath of God". Here was God's promise to us. Here was His mighty and precious answer to prayer. Her middle name Faith is because God taught us so much about trusting in Him when we didn't have all the answers. Here we were facing the reality that we may have to give up our hopes of having a biological child and yet we knew our only hope was to trust God, trust that He had a plan for us (Jer 29:11). He showed us so many specific scriptures throughout this crazy time, reminding us to trust Him. So Elizabeth's name is very special to us.


Folks ask us all the time what will you call her? We will call her Elizabeth of course. Only Sophie (her cousin) is allowed to call her "Tis" - I mean I have to cut a 1+ year old some slack right? Thanks guys for checking in on our blog we will do our best to keep it updated!
